Pretty powerful herbal flavor and then very bitter aftertaste that settles in the throat. The beer goes down but the aftertaste is not great.

Alter Schwede, 6,8 %, vom Faß im Eschenbräu. - Satt goldgelb, leicht trüb. - In der Nase bocktypisch sattes helles Malz und feine zitronige Hopfung. - Antrunk glatt und schwer hellmalzig mit verhaltener runder Süße und wuchtiger zitroniger Hopfenherbe, süße Grapefruit, Honig. Mild rezent, mastig, perfekt kaschierter Alkohol (was bei diesem Hopfeneinsatz auch nicht wundert). Im Abgang solide, aromatisch zitrusfruchtige Bittere. - Sehr schöner heller Bock, bei dem sehr aromatische Hopfung auf einen schweren Malzkörper trifft und dessen Schwere fast vergessen läßt. 04-01-18 // on tap at the brewpub. Fresh tapped when i was there. As Alter Schwede 2.0 because it was buried for a couple of weeks to rage. Unclear golden. White head. Smooth body. Mild to medium hop aroma. Minimal fruit. Medium bitter. Grainy smooth. Nice. 3.7

From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty, grassy. Malty, alcohol presence and bitter. Toasted malty and dry finish.

Gul uklar med lavt hvitt skum. Hvete, kardemomme og noe sitronlukt. Smaker syrlig av sitronskall, litt søtlig. Kort. Tørr. Medium kullsyre

Draught. Some barrels of the Alter Schwede that are buried underground for 7 weeks. Cloudy gold with a short lived head. Aroma is light grapefruit. Flavour is nicely bittered hop with a pleasant fruit back. Palate is lingering bitter.

Draught. Foggy yellow with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma if fruity hops. Sweet citrus fruit with a dry slightly bitter finish

Straw and hazy. White bread and alcohol nose. Stern alcoholic admonishment but a soft demeanour. Interesting approximation of a pale bock.

Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, fruity, sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration, fruity, peppery, fresh.
