Up to this point we've been subtle with our coffee additions. Beers that have coffee notes, but not enough to obscure the malt. For this one we pushed the coffee expression by steeping fresh roasted beans directly to the beer followed by cold-brew concentrate dosed into it. The coffee from Vigilante gives us that amazing fresh aroma like opening a new bag of coffee first thing in the morning!

Can from CLW--thanks, Chris! Opaque black, light viscosity, ring of head, no lacing. Aroma is strong bittersweet roasted malt/coffee, Taste is strong bitter, roasted malt/coffee with some chocolate (chocolate covered espresso bean). Smooth, frothy, creamy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Really strong aroma and flavor with a bit more nuance to flavor. Nice.

16 oz. can. Aroma was huge coffee with some oatmeal. Taste was bold coffee, toasty and roasty malt backbone. light vanilla like hints. Nice body and chewy texture from the oatmeal. Quite good.
