Dark brown with a tan, creamy head. Malty, light fruit, toffee, some toasted malts in the aroma. Flavor is similar. Nice medium toffee, malts, some light vanilla, dark fruit, and a light background spice. Medium bodied. Real nice beer.

Shaker pint draft, Old Chicago in Overland Park, Kansas. Pour is mostly clear copper brown with not much off white head. What is there creates some nice lacing. Aroma is light hazelnut, a bit of straw and grass. Taste is straw dusty malty, light hazelnut sweetness some interesting lingering yeast in the finish. There is some roast and char as it warms. Palate is medium to thin bodied, coats the mouth a bit then finishes quick and clean. Easy drinking beer.

Pretty unique beer. Definitely has a lot of rye. Great aroma of a fresh rye bread, but taste is not quite as great. Nice, long palate that has hints of caramel and rye. Great beer for people who like rye bread ;)

35,5cl bottle, Kaisla, Helsinki. Poured dark copper color with a nice head, long lasting lacing. Hops and caramel in aroma. Flavor is caramel, coffee, smoke notes and fruits. Quite long finish with some coffee notes. Really interesting beer, drinkable and tasty.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Secret Santa Winter 10 (thetomG). Thanks! Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy offwhite head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma of nuts with caramel, dark fruits and an herbal finish. The taste is caramel, nutty notes, a bit of smoke, bitter malts with some faint roastiness, fruity rye notes and some bitter hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Growler from Big Z. Pours a transparent, copper amber with a frothy white head. Nose is sweet, malty, bready, doughy. Flavor is sweet, chewy grains, light caramel, brown bread, lightly spicy. Medium bodied, sweet finish.

I picked this up at Foremost Liquors in my neighborhood in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after an especially crappy day at work. This stuff is just what I needed! Aroma of chocolate malt, somewhat bready, I’m reading rasins in the descriptions and I can buy that. Appearance is a rich amber / toffee with a thin white head. Taste is very smooth, somewhat sweet, captures the season very well, creamy, it’s got roasted malt and a toffee flavor. Another great one from Chicago’s best brewery!

Biggish offwhite head. Deep brown body. Deep earthy malty aroma with peanuts and straw notes. Vivid and clear. Dry-sweetish strawy grainy earthy caramel taste with chocolatey notes. Rounded, smoothish mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dryish earthy roasty peas and wood aftertaste with caramelly notes. Excellent! (0.355l bottle, ?, CPH.)

Bottle from a trade with phaleslu. Pours dark caramel color with light tan head. Aroma of chocolate and toasted malts. Flavor is chocolaty and toasty with some spiciness from the rye. Medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Peter.
