12 fl oz bottle. Pours a clear and deep golden hazzlenut brown with huge and off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt, light breadish and dark caramelish. Roasted malty flavoured with a light chocolate note and mild bitterness. Lingering malty roasted finish.

Medium-deep orange-brown body, thin, clumping buff head. Toasty nose with brown sugar and grapes, tart. Toasty malt body with brown sugar and red grape notes, finishing bitter and leafy. Creamy, rich, and quaffable. Pour two at a time.

Bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Nose and taste is sweet toffee and caramel with a vaguely roasted note. Medium bodied. Ends dry. Very easy, perhaps a bit boring - but decent and drinkable.

Bottle from Utobeer. Clear deep brown with lasting beige head. It’s a mild. Whoohooo, America made a proper mild!!!!!! It’s not stupid big hop, oh but it is bitter on the finish. So it’s a bitter then, so a premium bitter. With some Rye. Mild on the aroma, quite drinkable in the mouth, some cereal and then some moderate hop on finish. Decent premium bitter.

(Draught) Beer is cloudy and dark brown. Head is dense, medium sized and white. Rye and mals in general could be found when sniffing the beer. Palate was medium bodied and carbonation was medium, too. Taste contained malts, rye, sweetness, little bit of hops and ok bitterness. Aftertaste was mostly malty.

Nice crisp deep amber and copper tinted body with a large tan head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma of rye, oatmeal, hops, malt and a bit of cereal. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour up front mostly of caramel with a tiny bit of rye showing through and a rather pleasant mild hop taste. Aftertaste shows caramel, brown sugar and a light dose of malt - very nice. Overall, a nice twist on a mild - a style I don’t see enough of, but a good beer and definitely worthwhile during autumn in Chicago! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 11-June-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 14-July-2009.

12oz bottle. Deep, murky amber-brown. Nice lively head that dies down after a minute or two. Mellow sweet malt, borwn sugar aroma. Rich and sweet, full bodied. Deep caramel and nut flavors, with a very pleasantly bitter, orange-vanilla undertone in the finish. The rye does give it a slightly odd taste, but also imparts a festive quality, which is nice in the winter. Better than I expected it to be for sure.

Pour is a murky looking brown with a average tan head. Aroma is some rye and grain but nothing really stands out. Flavor is again some rye and spice but overall kinda watery and bland. I didn’t get a lot of what others got off this beer. A watery brown ale more or less.
