Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Thanks Ang. Hazy amber. Hop aroma. Big US PNW hop aroma. Some decent malts. Malt is a little syrupy and oxidation is there. Bit metallic. Bit of heat burn from alcohol. Nice hops though

Bottled@The Chriso Gaylord Tasting. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, some fruits, toffee, mild alcohol as well as some raisins. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with some sweet alcoholic notes and some notes of spices and toffee. A bit on the sweeter side, but otherwise quite nice.

Bottle. graciously shared by coyotehunter. Pours a medium brown with a small head and lots of crud floating around in it... suspended particles and clumps suspended in the liquid and in the surface film. Aromas are a thing of beauty... first thing to notice is a sharp bit that is boozy, a bit of dark fruit and red wine or port, brown sugar, a little bit of chocolate or something similar and a bit of a chalky smell. Flavor is bold and boozy. Brown sugar, brandy and port are my first thoughts. There’s quite a bit of carbonation across the palate, which seems a little odd for the style and then there is the alcoholic warmth and flavor in the finish. It’s warmth is nice, but the flavor in the aftertaste is a little astringent. Still, this is mighty fine stuff.

Thanks to fly! Nearly no head over opaque dull-brown beer. Rich hopscake nose with US hops: grapey, resiny, lytchee; estery. Very hoppy in taste; bitterness is nearly excessive, turning to metallic or chlorehexidin notes, on the verge of caricatural. Fruity esters in the background, but slaughtered by the bitter overload. Warming up, mellowing out, getting sweeter, with retronasal flavours of (candle)wax and pineapple. Quite low in carbonation, very slick, well-bodied; alcohol quite traceable. As said: excessive bitterness, crude & not balanced. Whatever happened here - this is not what I expect from St. Arnold?

Bottle. Thanks to MaltOMeal. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with some hints of caramel and some hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of caramel and dark fruit. Warming malty hoppy finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste. A nice one.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for this one. He said it’s ready to drink. So I’m drinkin! Pours a hazy reddish amber with a decent beige head. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Hop aroma seems mixed. Not floral though. Full bodied. Mild carbonation. Flavor is definitely malt, and the hop presence seems more citrus than pine, but that may just be me. But it seems rather blended together. There is so much to taste. Lots of citrus, though not really grapefruit. It is certainly "rich, creamy". Incredibly yummy. Spicey hop notes seem to stand forward in the finish. Who knew Texas did this stuff. It’s WOW.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Hazy amber color; small creamy head. Nice aroma, caramel and American hops, ending a bit buttery and dusty (interesting), maybe sweaty too. It has a very good body structure, strong caramel flavor, good sweetness level, very good and powerful hopping (a lot of bitter oranges). Very good Strong Ale, dynamic and powerful.
