ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Clear amber beer. Lightly sour malt nose. Rich toffee malt. Light creamy palate. Decent beer - like a light creamy barleywine. A little bubblegum in the undertone.

Bottle 33cl. @ Chris O’s Night of the Gaylords.Clear medium red amber color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to light heavy berry - spicy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091229]

Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Russet/brown, thin off white head. Spicy aroma, spice/sour. Some malt. Bit too spicy for my delicate palate and a bit sweet.

Dark amber color, spiced mandarin oranges, apple cider, ginger and cherries exude from the nose. Wonderful. Big gingery mouth, mandarin, cherries, slightly syrupy. Great depth. Lingering gingery finish. Christmas in a bottle. Excellent.

Ruby/copper, tiny head that ends up as a ring of tan bubbles.Aroma is pretty complex, lots of ginger, dried fruit, some tangerine, charred oak, brandy/cognac and of course some alcohol.Taste is similar, lots of ginger and oak, some creamy vanilla, then some lightly roasted malt. Woodyness keeps coming back for more. Sweetness is present from start to long after swallowing.Creamy carbonation with some warming alcohol on the palate.Quite a potent beer. Definately one to be slowly sipped after a meal on a cold day, preferably in front of a roaring fire.
