Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices, leading to a dry bready finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a rough off-white head. Sweet caramellish aroma with a slight wooden tartness. Rich body, lowish carbonation, overripe fruit and again this tart edge. Some warming alcohol. I’m not so fond of the tart notes. 100912

ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Clear dark brown beer. Light brown head. Malty nose with a hint of coca cola. This carries over in to the taste. The palate is crisp and semi dry. Malty in the mid and the finish with just a little fruit that is hard to pin down. Overall a pleasant and easy drinking beer.

Pours brown without much of a head.Nose shows nutty malt, caramel and some light fruit. Not particularly expressive.Flavours include loads of malt with caramel, bready and toasty character along with some soft spices and a fair whack of booze.Carbonation is pretty low.

Bottle, 11C. Dull copper with a coat of light beige head. Aroma of sherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, cherry vinegar. Taste has light fruit sweetness with some aged caramel and chocolate, big woody spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg and aniseed quite prominent and not all that well integrated. Finish is mildly astringent with spices. The flavours are OK but somehow don’t come together.

On tap at Brewery. This is a surprisingly easy supper. Somewhat acidic overtones give way to a sweet, full- mouthed, low-carbonated gem. Am waiting to now taste the six I bought in bottles.

Amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is nutty and chocolaty with some mild spicyness. Flavour is chocolate, coffee, fruits and some mild notes of wood. Pleasant, but not that Biere de Gardeish...

Bottle at the Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Deep chestnut colour, lasting beige head. Slight haze. Toffeeish, not much of a biere de garde compared with the stuff I get in France. Sweet toffeeish beer. Nice enough, but a bit out of style.
