Pale Sour Ale Aged in Wine Barrels with Cherries and Raspberries

Bottle Release 10/14/23 - $17/500 mL

Cherries and raspberries are a perfect pair. The jamminess of the raspberries balances the brightness of the cherries. We were heavy-handed with the fruit on this one with 150 lbs of sour cherries from Baugher’s Orchard (Westminster, MD) and 150 lbs of red raspberries from Twin Springs Fruit Farm (Orrtanna, PA). We selected two pale sours aged in red wine barrels (Malbec and Pinot Noir) to mirror the flavors of the fruit. We get notes of raspberry jam, cherry pie, almonds, and lemons!

Brewed: 10/19/21 & 4/15/22 – Bottled: 8/18/23
Final pH: 3.38 – Cellar Up To: 4 years
Bottle Count: 780 – 1 Pint .9 fl oz/500 mL

Bottle shared by Joe, thanks! Pours a clear bright red with a white head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has a nice combination of tart raspberry and sour cherry with light wine and oak supporting. Flavor has sour raspberry and cherry with light grains and a bit of wine coming through.
