Draft. A hazy brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of yeast, brown sugar, alcohol, and caramel. The flavor is acidic with notes of fruit, malt, caramel, brettanomyces, plums, and yeast, leading to a dry and spicy finish.

On tap at Esbjerg Beerfestival. A hazy, light brown beer with a big tan head leaving lacings. Citrusy, chalky and dusty on the nose. Not bad, but far from my idea of a quadrupel. Sweet, citrusy flavor with some caramel, finishing sweet and citrusy bitter. Medium to full body with pleasant carbonation. It’s a refreshing beer in a strange way, but I don’t think I could drink much of it. 091022

EsBF09. Very citric aroma, strange fruitiness. Cloudy red brown colour. Small stable head. The flavour has a strange fruity sourness. There is also some plastic. Tastes like an oud bruin gone wrong. The brewer says it is not infected, and I believe him, but it still tastes bad.

On tap. Pours a cloudy opaque brown with a creamy beige head. Lightly tart aroma with a nutty touch. Medium body, a little roasted malt and fruit but everything is pretty much overpowered by a rather distinct sourness. Not unpleasantly as such, but clearly must be infected. A sour Quad is a bit of a contradiction! 221009

Tap @ Esbjerg Festival, 2009. Pours dark amber with a large creamy white head and lacings. Strong alc. in the nose. Some dark dried fruits and tart notes. More like an Oud Bruin. Tart, warm yet fresh.

Handbottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a fully gone head. Aroma is wineous, phenolic and fruity. Fruity, mild roasted malt with a hint of sweetness and quite phenolic. Lingering fruity and acidic/lacto - nice yet unusual.

Hazy mahogany with a medium sized beige head. Aroma had roasted malt, figs, plums and caramel notes. Sour had lacto, roasted mat, caramel and dried fruits. Finished sour. Probably not intended that way.
