Karmeliter Rhöner Dunkel, jetzt mit 5,5 %, Flasche von Sagasser, NES. - Kastanienrotbraun, klar. 500ml bottle. Clear brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, decently lacing, off-white head. Dark malty aroma, slightly grainy hints of spelt. Taste is dark malty minimally roasty, a cautious touch of malt sweetness/malt lozenge, some grassy hoppy overtones; light, one-dimensional, slightly watery.

Pours a dark brown with medium head. Mild taste of brown bread, some figs. Quite light for a dark beer.

Dark brown and clear the glass. Caramel and malt in the nose. The beer starts quite sweet and not very deep in aroma. The mainpart is malty-sweet with nearly no bitterness. No deepness at all. The aftertaste is sweet-malty, slightly bitter.
Not a great Dunkel! --> 5/12/6/6

Golden-brown. Light chocolate aroma. Light body. Hints of chocolate, light liquorice and a fairly juicy, acidic finish. Not really my type of dunkel, quite light in interpretation.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, prickly-dry in the background, a bit washy all the time. Fruity finish, like plum. Not too malty. Average!
