It’s the kind of ale you’d drink while dining on venison, quail or pheasant (quorn versions, obviously) and I’m going to sell it to fine restaurants in the hope of reversing the current trend for wine. Back in the 19th century most fine ale was even fuller, more powerful and aged for far longer than today and there was little need for much wine.
..Yesterday’s beer today because there is No Tomorrow..

RBESG08 grand tasting. Definite Kent hops on this. Toffee, kind of burning Kent hop on finish. Decent and very drinkalbe. Hops are lovely.

Bottled. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is hops, mild honey, some sweet malts. Flavour is a nice balance of the same with some mild alcoholic sweetness and tropical fruits. Otherwise it hides the ABV very well.

RBESG08 grand tasting 2007. Haty amberish colour, not the biggest head around. Appley nose. Light hoppy taste leading into some bitterness. Malty. Understated taste, guess it’s not my type of beer.

Bottled at RBESG. Hazy amber, small head. Apricot aroma. Sweet like jam, medium to full bodied, thick and concentrated. Grainy and heavily malty. Sticky finish with carboard and alcohol. Didn’t like it at all. Too much syrup and apricot.

Hand bottle at RBESG ... Copper fruity malty and juicy ... little lime very nice ... quite sweet and little caramel.
