A rich, fruit and amber ale infused with succulent Californian raisins. Choicest hops give depth, density and complexity.

(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 26 nov) Amber colour with foamy off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel and ... raisins (surprise!). Fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, raisins, prunes and chocolate. Rather dry finish (thank you). Fairly nice brew with a raisin character that doesn’t dominate (luckily).

Cask at Doctor Duncan’s Liverpool. I wish people would stick with making beer that is beer flavoured (apart from some ginger beers that are nice). This just doesn’t do one thing or the other. Not fruity enough to be something like a kriek, and not got enough balance to carry it off. Shame as I love Cains

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An amber beer with no head. The aroma is of rhum and dried fruit. The flavor contains loads of raisins - or is it rhum? I like it - so different - so good.
