Bottle (from etre gourmet). Pours black with light brownish head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sweet, cocoa, roast, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, coffee, honey, cocoa, malt, roast. Finish is sweet and cocoa. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: very good.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 02/2019, batch# 16.84. Brune foncée, col crémeux beige. Arôme offre de fines effluves de fumé, café plaisant en retrait, note de grains avec un léger effet de caramel et pointe de noix. Retrouve une petite effluve de chocolat au lait. Palais de grains, malt grillé assez plaisant avec un caractère fumé, voire tourbé, qui est fortement bien restitué le tout, similaire au nez, sur des notes de café au lait. Retrouve un houblonné modéré agrumes procure de belles notes d’amertume qui contrebalancent l’effet malté tout en laissant ample place au caractère principal de ce porter; le fumé.

Marrón muy oscura opaca, de escasa espuma ocre. Aroma ahumado, bacon. En boca es oleosa, malteada, bastante ahumada, tabaco, notas de chocolate. Seca, sin gas, de amargor moderado y paso fácil pese al alcohol, que esconde muy bien. Buena porter.

zwart met bruine kraag. aroma van geroosterde mout, turf, autobanden, rubber korrels, rookmout. Smaken van koffie, hmm ’t is net alsof ik een asbak aan het uitlikken ben, wat oude en natte sigarenas, rookmout, chocolade, geroosterde mout, matig zoet, matig bitter, erg veel koffiebonen, zuurtje, de intense as smaak wordt na een tijdje wel wat minder, maar het heeft mij helaas niet weten te overtuigen, niet echt mijn ding.

33cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of leather, peat smoke, chocolate, caramel, hint of butterscotch, hint of tar, roasted malts. Flavour is medium sweet to sweet, soft sweet caramel and butterscotch, roasted malts, leather, peat, earth, chocolate, hint of liquorice, bitter finish. No coffee detected, which I think is a good thing. Medium to full bodied. Really tasty stuff.

Bottle from het Biermoment batch 16.84 BB 02/19, 33 cl sample. Dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of smoked malts with bacon and campfire ashes, slight iodine and peat. Peat and licorice saltiness in taste, bit sharp and dry wood and ashes. Feels a bit unpolished and raw.

Bottle from Beer Zoo. Black body with a medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of peat and salted chocolate. Flavour of copper, nuts and coffee. Thin to medium body body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. Would benefit from more sweetness.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, mild smokey peat and some chocolate. Taste has nice soft smokey peat, chocolate, creamy coffee, red fruit and a bitter finish. Full soft mouthfeel. Obviously based on his emelisse lvstro, but I like this version better. Very nice.
