Cask at the Townhouse, Ely. Mid-brown, almost clear, with a crown of creamy head. The nose provides malt, walnut, wood polish and a hint of rosewater. Fruity sweet and slightly woody taste, followed by a juicy balanced finish with a suggestion of strawberry. I enjoyed it.

Cask@GBBF2009. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is dry wood, grass, some caramel malts and quite bittery. Flavour is quite much the same along with some birchsap and mildly herbal notes.

Half on cask. Dark brown body under a low white layer. Aroma of dark fruit. Hoppy fruitiness in flavour with a lightly malt component. Slightly bitter ending. A well built brew with medium to full palate (served in a friendly atmosphere by an attentive barmaid at The Fat Cat, Norwich 25.09.2006).
