The good people at Thornbridge say: Lord Marples is surprisingly smooth with light toffee and caramel characters, a mixture of floral and spicy hop notes and a pleasing bitter finish.

Cask at Rose and Thistle, Frimley. Part of their Pub Co's brewery residency. Musty caramel and bread aroma. Light chestnut. Thin but creamy head. Initially malty before a bitterness comes through. Medium bodied. Light with soft carbonation. Long finish. Characterful for a bitter. Still it is a bitter so still a condervative brew.
