Cask @ Railway Inn, Greenfield. Dark golden with a small head. Its smooth texture is its dominant characteristic but also has a mild malty-fruitiness to it, and a strong bitter finish.

Cask @ Hallamshire House, Sheffield
Dark amber, clear, frothy white head with good lacing
Aroma of soft spicy english hops
Taste of caramel malts, bitter spicy english hops, touch of fruity dark malts, bitter hops, getting some black tea, slightly tannic
Palate - soft carb, thin body. Finish as main flavour with some slight tannic bitterness, not sure about that
Overall - It’s really a standard English bitter, quite ordinary for Thornbridge but I suppose that was the aim

Pint served at a Wetherspoons in Worcester (Sat 26th Jun 2010). The beer looked a dark brown colour and had an off white head on top, the head produced some great lacing as the beer was consummed. The smell was of roasted/toasted malts, semi-sweet treacle and molasses, couldn’t pick up any hops or other aromas. Although this is a supposed to be an English Bitter, I closed my eyes and let my imagination run wild while drinking it and came up with a strange quarter beer: A quarter Best Bitter, a quarter Mild, and a quarter each of both weak Porter and thin Stout. I liked it, but couldn’t pin down what I enjoyed about the beer, should have had another I suppose, but I was on a mission (again) and had to move on.

Drucken på Charlie’s i Köpenhamn. En rejäl bitter precis som den ska smaka. Maltig, bröd och lite karamell, bra humletoner, lätt blommig, liten in beska och eftersmak. Mycket drickbar.
