Cask at the Jolly Butchers, London on 14th August 2010. Richly malty, notes of "Maltesers (TM)" and cookies. Strongly malty main kick, biscuit, before grassy hop and the hint of smoke make themselves known to the drinker. A long, intensely bitter, very satisfying finish, and a pleasant zingy texture.

Dark amber with red highlights. Shining, naked surface. Malt-fruity aroma. Succulent citrus fruits together with caramel malts followed by dark, bitter fruits towards the ending. Dry on the swallow. Fine partner to the Angus steak. Half pint, cask at The Cask Pub and Kitchen in Pimlico, 15.07.2010.

Cask at Harpenden beer festival, Herts. An amber coloured pour with an almost grey head. Caramel, nutty aroma. Tastes caramel, malty, bitter, watery. Really disappointing. I love Thornbridge beers but certainly not this one.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 21 May 2010) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with dark fruit, raisins and dusty hops. Malty, nutty taste with notes of toasty malt, dried fruit and dusty hops. Below medium body, balanced sweetness. Rather low profile for a Thornbridge beer, but a tasty and well balanced bitter.

Cask at the Cask Pub and Kitchen. Clear copper brown pour with a fluffy white head. Aromas of dark fruits, sultanas, malts. Flavours of raisins, some chocolate, toffee, caramel. Malty, bitter finish.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Dark golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy and flowery. Flavour is hoppy, fruity, bitter. Slightly sweet. Biscuit malts. Outstanding.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090804]
