Cask at Hanging Bat. Cloudy pale gold, thin white head. The aromas are not strong with this one. Not getting any hefe-banana. Touch of dried pale fruits if anything. Apricot, lemon. Quite refreshing, but would be better with more carbonation.

Cask at The Hanging Bat and bottle at home. Hazy mustard yellow body with a thin white cap. Nice lacing. Weak aroma of soft malt, lemon and coriander. Flavour of lemon, yeast, chalky wheat and orange. Quite dry but not astringent. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture. Better suited to cask than bottle, in my (admittedly limited) experience. Lacking the crispness of the best Hefeweizens.

Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium, Banchory. It pours cloudy orange, with a foamy white head. The nose is sweet sticky fruit: apple, pear and tangerine, as well as wheat and a touch of spice. The taste is spice, brown bread, tangy orange, green banana, pear and wheat, with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Pretty decent stuff.

Tiny, white head covering a hazy, amber body. Sweet spicy fruits to the nose. Wheat-spicy taste with late banana up front and yeasty fruits beneath. Rather sweet expression of a hefeweizen (Gravity cask at GBBF, 06.08.2009).
