Bottle, Batch 002. Dark brown pour with a thick beige head. Nose of sweet malts, toffee, light chocolate. Flavor is rich with a strong, sweet malty backbone. Notes of caramel, roasted malts, dark fruits, brown sugar. More roasted malts on the finish along with some mild bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation, this brew is smooth.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Norm's, 2/22/10
Batch 002

Aroma: Aroma has lots of sweet toffee notes, some fruit/cherry, some caramel, yeast, and roasted malts
Appearance: Pours a clear dark reddish-brown color with a thin beige head, some lace too
Flavor: Taste is fairly malty, sweet, yeasty, fruit lighter then in nose, light bitterness in finish
Palate: This beer is quite smooth and very drinkable, a really nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is quite on point for this style. It has a lot of flavor to it, and a really nice mouthfeel. It works nicely. Highly palatable and drinkable. Not one of those beers where a 750 feels like way too much beer for one person. This one makes for a very good malt-lead bock.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of fruit, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, malt, fruit, and red berries, leading to a dry woody and berry-like finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of goryshkewych. Pours a clear orangey brown with a creamy beige head leaving some laces. Sweet malty nose with lots of pumpernickel. Solid body, amazingly pleasant roasted malt base with an extremely smooth and pleasant mouthfeel. Warming alcohol finish. Compares with the best German Doppelbocks! Yummy. 231109

750 mL bottle courtesy of CrellMoset. Batch 001. Thanks! Pours a clear ruby-strawberry color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Dark malty aroma with raisins, toasted coconut, molasses, slight alcohol. The taste seems a bit weak with notes of molasses and raisin. Muted hops. Thin-medium bodied and it just borders on watery.

750 ml bottle in a fancy red bag and all... (Batch 1). Pour is a dark brown, but as I’m pouring it looks like it has an almost pink color to it... Head is fairly substantial. Aromas are dusty grains. Flavor is almost completely malt and roast... with a little hint of alcohol and some nuttiness in the aftertaste. This makes this a fairly simple, yet decent brew.
