Bottle in Yosemite lodge. As ahwahnee amber. A pale amber coloured pour with a small halo of white head. Aroma is big diacetyl, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, sweet. Flavour is composed of toffee, dry, mineral, tangy toffee apple, little brown sugar and cardboard. Palate is semi sweet, drying finish, highish carbonation . meh too much diacetyl.

Enjoyed on draft (as “The Ahwahnee Amber Ale”) at the Curry Village check in in Yosemite, as well 12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Lodgepole general store in Sequoia National Park. The pour is light haze copper amber with a smallish off white head. The aroma is cereal grain malt, softly sweet. The taste is clean cereal malts, slightly sweet, finishing with a hint of nut. The palate is light to medium soft carbonation with a clean finish. Nice Amber.

Bottle to glass. Very sweet grainy malt. Pours a clear orange-red with a white head that leaves a collar and slight lacing. A slightly cloying, syrupy malt taste that is light biscuit and soda cracker. Medium low bitterness. Thin mouthfeel does not work for this style.

Draught @ the brewpub. Rated on 23.07.2012
Aroma has bready malt and some fruits. Flavour is slightly tart with citrus, hops and bready malt. Too tart, feels almost like contaminated.

Bottle. Sold as "The Ahwahnee Amber Ale" in Yosemite National Park. Pours clear orangish-amber with a small off-white head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. Lightly roasted malt aroma, with a little caramel note. Taste is roasted malt dominated, slightly sweet, with mild bitterness throughout. Nothing special here.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The has strong notes of butter as well as some notes of caramel. The flavor has strong notes of butter as well as some caramel and malt, leading to a dry buttery finsh. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
