From bottle at Stone Bistro, 1999, thanks to Greg Koch. Pours black with a beautiful tan head. Smooth roasted chocolate malty aroma. Flavour continues this with a smooth chocolate presence and light roasted malt flavour. The roasted flavour lasts into the far finish.

2007 Release. 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle, WA. Pour is black with a nice khaki head and some beautiful layering. Aroma of mild coffee roast and bright hops. Taste is very much in the world of Baltic Porters and Imperial Stouts, balance of roasted malt and hop with some licorice. Even some nice trailing smokiness. Some heat in the after-taste, though not overwhelming.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours very dark with lasting dark tan head. The aroma is sweet and burnt malts as well as some molasses and mild chocolate malts. The taste starts smooth and neutral. Then the burnt malts and chocolate malts enter to liven up the experience. It ends smooth and even with faint pine hoppiness.

Bottle: Dark reddish brown pour with a creamy tan head. Nose is maple, malt, cocoa, and roasty tones. The taste is a roasty malt with coffee, chocolate, and a nice bittersweetness. I liked this one quite a bit. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for bringing this to share.

Bottle Pours a medium viscosity deep black witha huge dense creamy tan head. Heavy lacing stays and dries on the sides of the glass. Rich bitter chocolate, roasted and light coffee aroma. Flavor was up front coffee and cold campfire. Kingsford. The bitter coffee flavor trailer lingers. The only drawback for me was the thin slightly chalky palate. Thanks to BuckeyeBoy

Bottle Poured Very dark almost black. Little head/lacing. Rich aroma of molassas. Very nice rich heavy flavor of dark roasted grain, chocolate and molassas again. Feels heavy and smooth. Easy on the bitterness and hopps. Not much carbonation. Smokey reminders at the end. Very nice.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Slight chocolate/roast aroma. Roasty flavor with some chocolate/coffee and backing hops - possibly a bit of oatmeal. Fuller bodied. Lingering roast and backing bitterness. A bit heavy handed on the roast.

Black pour that holds up a tan head. Coffee and roast malt aroma. Rich, full, smooth body that delivers a complex coffee and chocolate flavor that fades slowly to a dry finish. Good robust Porter
