Bottle. Pours an extremely dark brown with a a brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a relatively strong alcohol note as well as a dark bread note with a good amount of chocolate and toffee. Flavor began with a bit of alcohol but had a really nice chocolate bread note as well as a hint of toffee.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Toffee, raisin, prune and treacle aromas. Full with upfront prune and toffee turning to a dry, lasting soy and vanilla alcohol burn.

12 oz. bottle, as part of the Jewbelation 8-pack, pours dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, bourbon and alcohol. Flavour is complex dark fruits, bourbon, caramel malts, and alcohol. Huge jump from 11 to 12 - this is really excellent.

Bottle, from Kris Wines, London. Drunk in Haarlem sat by a windmill. Deep dark brown pour with a medium tan head that gradually faded but still had some life in it until the end. Super sweet aroma with dark fruit molasses, booze, chocolate and malt aplenty. Thickish slightly chewy mouthfeel. Not the most refined chappy really. Booze was clearly evident. Flavour pretty sweet and had some nice spicy/ fruity notes but the malty aspect was very nearly all consuming and smothered proceedings a litle. Certainly drinkable and quite tasty, but feel this could have been even better.

9th October 2008. GABF. Opaque black beer. Rich, fruity and spicy - lovely, but not quite as good as Eleven.

Bottle from Utobeer, Borough Market, Southwark, London, 14-11-09 consumed 22-11-09 Pours dark brown with a light beige swirl and rim of bubbles. Aroma is heavy with malts, treacle and spice, Loz says that she gets a real meatiness on the nose. Spicey warmth from the alcohol, dark sticky fruits, again I get black treacle, there is no denying the sweetness, but there is also a taste reminiscent from a Stone beer I like. Oily coating on inside of glass. Good beer but at £7.90 a pop another pricey offering from this establishment.. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8
