Originally a tweak of Eugene City Tracktown 100 Meter Ale, reformulated for release as Captain Sig’s Deadliest Ale
Style: India Red Ale. Dedicated to the Hansen brothers - Sig, Edgar, and Norman - the Rogues of the Bering Sea. Portions of proceeds of Deadliest Ale will support the Fishermans Fund. Deep red in color, this ale starts off with a floral, slightly citrus hop nose, hop flavor soon fades into the malty backbone of this red ale.
9 Ingredients:
Malts: 2 Row Pale, Munich, Carastan and Chocolate.
Hops: Amarillo and Cascade.
Yeast & Water: Rogue
Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water.

Bottle. Clear amber with small tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel and hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, hops, fruit, little pine, medium sweet, little citrus, little grapefruit and medium bitter.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are bitter hops, caramel, flowers and malt. Bitter finish.

Not a bad ipa by any stretch, but was a liitle too much grapefruit and floral for my tastes, needs a little more citrus hoppiness. Good overall, not fantastic.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a medium beige head that collapses into a blanket after a few minutes; lace sheets the glass. Aroma is faintly bready and caramelly. Taste is mostly bitter with a bit of malt sweetness that attempts to balance things out; leaves a lingering bitter finish. Carbonation is average, full body. It’s alright, I just wish there were more IPA hallmarks like pine and citrus. This beer has none of that. I wonder how old this bottle is...

65cl bottle at Brauhaus. Pours dark honey in colour with a nice sized head. The nose has sweet malt with toffee. The taste has green hops, grapefruit against an elegant malt background. The palate is a beautiful rich structure and texture and seriously drinkable. Overall, another good Rogue beer.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber-brown beer with a tan head. PNW hop aroma with light chocolate. Pine resin and grapefruit flavor with light darker malts. Medium bodied. Nice bitterness. Pine resin and grapefruit linger with light tropical fruit.

0.65l bottle @ RBNAG11. Pours a heavy clouded deep copperish body with a nice bubbly sidesticking off-white head. Aroma is light sweetish, dark-hoppy, some piney tones and caramel. Nice aroma. Lively carbonation oily mouthfeel. Hoppy flavors, quite hoppy actually! Sharp, some dry caramel in the finish. Not bad.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy caramel-orange color with an enormous foamy orange head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, light pine, pineapple and lemon. The flavor was thickly malty with lots of caramel and light pine and pineapple. The finish was long sweet caramel and pineapple. Fairly full bodied. Wonderfully balanced and pleasurable to drink. Nice.
