Quite a surprise. Pours deep brown wit thick, fluffy beige head. Aroma is light toasted malt. Taste is where this beer really gets going. Slightly sweet and nutty, tangy, roast grains, brown sugar with a light bitterness on the tail end. Mouthfeel is litle light, but overall nice finish and lingering palate.

Bottle. Chestnut with a bright red shine, low head, only light haze. Berry sweet malt aroma. Slightly fizzy mouthfeel hides the fat fruity malt, good roast, Ok hop aromatics to round it off, nutty retronasal. Chewy mouthfeel once you beat the carbonation out of it. Moreish enough, seved from cask it must be very drinkable indeed.

500 ml bottle at the first counterterrorism civil-military relations beer tasting in Garmisch, Germany. Dark amber color. Bare hint of hops, otherwise a plain malty brew.

Swing-top bottle. Sour toffee malt, apple aroma with a hint of ash and grassy hops. Dark brown color with large head. Strong cigarette ash and toffee malt flavor - could not get past the ashy flavor - made this beer undrinkable.
