Sampled from bottle at Lambic of Doom. Hazy golden with white head. Sour grain, peach, hay. Moderate sweet and sour and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Fluffy and breezy light feel to it. Very nice.

The yellow and white peach one in this second series of 3F's lambic try-outs gathered under the Speling van het Lot moniker, 75 cl bottle at Lambik-O-Droom, one of only 199 made. Irregularly lacing, moussy, snow white, medium sized head, stable, over a hazy, deep and beautifully warm peachy golden blonde beer. Aroma of a lot of unripe peach (the white peach, probably) and nectarine or indeed sweeter yellow peach, lemon juice, raw rhubarb, light sweaty touch, freshly picked redcurrants, woodsorrel, old white wine, damp barnyard, green tomato, hints of starfruit, grape peel, very brief and subtle, quickly gone whiff of farmland manure. Crisp, bright onset, lime-like sourness, relatively soft (softened by the yellow peach sweetness) but gaining strength throughout the palate, yet never becoming too harshly acidic; unripe peach flavour is accentuated by this sourness, seemingly the white peach comes through more clearly than the yellow one. Rhubarb, redcurrant and stonefruit peel impressions accompany a crisply carbonated, dry but supple body, with elegantly light barley breadiness and light soapy wheatiness; the lemony acidity dries the palate and especially the finish near to completely, some old oak wood shines at the back and a brief, deeply buried, earthy note of hop bitterishness rounds things off. Unripe peach acidity and wryness linger, in a crisp, utterly refreshing way. Dry, brimming with stonefruit, supple, elegant and hugely quenching on a spring afternoon, this is a clear masterpiece of young lambic briskness and generous fruitiness. Bright as the sun, the natively grown peaches here truly shine, this is a world class fruit lambic without a shadow of a doubt.

(750ml bottle @ Lambik-O-Droom, Apr 28/18) Pours somewhat hazy medium gold with a big stack of white froth and some lace. Notes of juicy fresh peaches, fleshy and a touch jammy, overtones of citrus, lemon zest, funky hay, soft cellar, herbal hops, light to moderate tannic wood, a little grippy peach skin towards the finish, a little mineral and cleansing in the back end as well. Dried peach/apricot in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied with extremely creamy mouth-filling carbonation. I was a big fan of the backblending, not just for the mouthfeel but because I thought the additional young lambic tones brought out more layers even if they might have sacrificed a little of the outright peachiness.

Huge thanks. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Lambiek-o-droom. Murky golden, orange, little head. Nose is 3F funk with the fresh peach all the way, more 3F clearly here. Fruit is bright, clear, touch mellow, nice fruit, flesh, peach, clearer 3F funk, oddly bit more mellow than mothers. Massively thick fruit, easy drink. Amazing beer, still other peach versions were even better.

Bottle shared at 3F, thanks to the Ratebeer crew! Hazy golden with big white head that doesn’t last long. Nice fresh peach again, but here there’s slightly more funk, hay and lemon. Soft herbs and fresh green leaves too. I think the refermentation adds a nice complexity and depth here, but a bit of the fruit does get lost along the way. Over medium sour and light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with that lovely fine but full 3F carbonation.
