Super clear, golden, peach and even light ruby and pink coloured body with a very thin, off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma of light candy, soft flowers, pine, resin and a kick of tropical fruits and fructose near the end. Medium-bodied; Very rich malts with some pungent grain and bitter resinous and grassy hops with a nice, balanced profile, but some assertive notes, especially with the alcohol showing depth and a lot of alpha acids and bitterness from the hops, without much to balance them out. Aftertaste is relatively well-balanced, but focused almost exclusively on the malt and hops, without much complexity, as the fruits, resin and strength sort of die off and leave noticeable hops, tons of malts and a lot of alcohol, metallic notes and some astringency. Overall, a nice enough Imperial IPA, but missing depth, complexity and range, but at least it's showing hops, alcohol and balance. Nice to try relatively locally and very fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Wegman's in Alexandria, Virginia on 05-December-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-December-2020, just ten days later.
