Hefig-malziger Antrunk in genau richtigem Verhältnis, harmonisch. Solide! 11/11/11/12/11/11

16.9 oz bottle poured into a weizen glass. A classic example of the style. Aroma and taste is fantastic banana clove, wheat and mild hops. What makes this stand out is the slightly more malt they use. It creates a darker color and the malt gives it a bit more body. This won two gold medals ( 2006 and 2008) for a reason. I dream of the day I can get this on tap. FANTASTIC hefe.

Bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Starts malty and fine fruity with notes of banana. Well balanced finish, not too dry, still fine fruity. Very drinkable and good hefeweizen!

Pour is an amber with a huge tan head. Lots of large bubbles that never go away. Aroma is some wheat and yeast and a minor clove. Flavor is some clove and banana but nothing really stands out. Finish leaves a dry bready malt on the tounge. Different looking and just an ok hefe.

Bottle from Oak Tree. Pours dark orange gold with a foamy 4 finger off-white head. Light clove aroma. Banana as the glass approaches the lips. Foamy carbonation. Flavor is banana, light clove, and something paper/wheat as it washes away. Flavor strengthens with repetition.

Applesauce aroma, with light babyfood hints. Clear golden, headless. Harsh mouthfeel. Applesauce flavor, with a tart finish. The over carbonation is a major distraction.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Nice lacing, highly carbonated, and medium fluffy head. Pours a hazy slightly muddy dark golden. Taste is lots of wonderful malt (caramel), banana, some clove, and a hint of bready wheat. First bottle I had chunks of yeast floating around, but this one doesn’t. This one is slightly underrated, is a little darker than most hefeweizens, and ultimately this is good beer.
