Bottle at home. It pours golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is grainy, dough, toasty, light spice and a touch of sweetness. The taste is crisp, bitter, lemony, soapy, toasty, peppery, metallic notes, wood and grain with a lingering dry finish. Light-medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. A bit soapy. So-so. I prefer the cask version.

Bottle @ Kings Day Tasting 2014 shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear orange color, medium sized off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is very fruity, mango, peach and nicely hoppy. Taste nicely hoppy, light to moderately malty, again quite fruity with tones of mango and peach and a nice subtle bitterness. Suitable body and carbonation.

Bottle @ KDT14 @ benzai. Slightly hazy orange with a medium sized white head. Smells sweet, malts, slightly fruity, fresh, decent. Tastes sweet, fresh, slightly fruity, slightly bitter, malty. Pretty okay. Thin body, soft carbo.

500ml Bottle - Copper in colour. Lemon, malt (almost like a shandy) and earthy hops in the aroma. Lemon, biscuity malt and caramel can be detected in the taste. Refreshing.

Bottle at Tom’s house. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of grain and lemon. Flavour of underripe pear, lemon and pale malt. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. Weak in flavour and body.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear golden yellow, decent white head. Aromas of honey and caramel. Light floral hops. Taste has a really good bitterness for the style. Clean finish. Bit thin, but nice enough.

Und wieder muss ein Rabe für einen Bier-Namen herhalten. Und auch diesmal ist es kein schwarzer Bier, sondern ein rötlich-goldenes Getränk. Es hat einen netten malzigen Geschmack, der aber nicht rein süß ist, sondern auch einige fruchtige Aromen à la Grapefruit und Zitronengras ebenso wie eine nussige Note. Ein durchaus gelungenes Bier.
