A family recipe, it exists since 1993, at first brewed by l'Achouffe but nowadays it is brewed at the Brasserie des Trois Fourquets / Brasserie Lupulus.

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of CanCrusher. Aroma is grainy, yeasty, floral and dusty with banana hint. Pours clear amber color with large soapy off-white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt and slightly tart dried fruitiness, following is grassy, peppery and honeyish, mouthfeel is smooth and warm, while finish is pretty bitter. Full body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Very good Belgian strong ale after quite a lot of time…

Yellow colour with lasting fluffy head. It's got a soft mouthfeel. Lightly malty. Good balance of sweet versus dry.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden colour with a thinnish soapy looking white head. Aromas of apricots, floral and herbal with hints of pale fruits. Taste is fruity and spicy with more stoney and pale fruits, lemon, some more floral and herbal notes and a nice amount of peppery spice. Fruit, floral, herbal and peppery spice on the finish. Beautiful balance of flavours. Thin to medium body with aggressive carbonation on the fizzy palate. This is an excellent way above average Tripel i will definitely be revisiting this again.

Slightly unclear medium golden colour, tiny yeast floaties, good frothy white head, fair retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malt, grain, honey, light lemon, yeast, herbal notes. Smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, grain, orange, apricot, light honey, herbal touch. Medium body, creamy to oily texture, average carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, peppery on the tongue, bit alcohol, lingering earthy notes, has an old-fashioned feel, more sturdy than refined, quite good.
