Cask at the Pembury Tavern on 8th July 2009. A dark ruby mild with an initially fair - but soon collapsing - white frothy head giving some initial lacing. Very flavoursome - the cask was particularly well-kept. Delicious roast barley and de-luxe malts abound in a mild which is particularly flavoursome for its low ABV.

Cask Conditioned at The Pembury Tavern, London
Hazy dark mahogany color. There is a light aroma of burnt malt. The mouthfeel is light, with flat caramel flavor, light chocolate, low bitterness and a light touch of burnt malt and paper. Nothing special.

Half pint, hand-pulled cask at the very right drinking temperature, Pembury Tavern, Hackney. Dark, ruby-tinged body with a very thin, tan head. Sweet aroma of roasted malts. Malty taste with a coffee bite. Hints of bitter fruits at the ending. Well bodied for its low alcohol level (12.08.2008).

(Cask at Oakdale Arms, Harringay, London, 29 Nov 2007) Dark brown colour with reddish hints, brief pale brown head. Roasted nose with coffee and liquorice. Roasted taste with notes of freshly ground coffee, dark bitter chocolate and a distinct coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Nice mild with lots of character.

Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2006. A hazy deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of berries, and light notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with quite strong notes of berries, leading to a dry woody finish. The body is no wonder thin.

Cask handpull at Pembury Tavern, Hackney. Very dark brown colour with lasting tan head. Lovely burnt malt aroma, chocolate is great. Lovely mild roastiness in mouth. Some thinness in mouth (it is only 3.3%), but stunning roasted finish.
