Zu Beginn ist das Bier erdig und torfig, dabei süß und angenehm hopfig mit likörartigem Beiton. Dieser Beiton enthält holzige Nuancen, die sich trotz ihrer Milde positiv hervorheben und das Bier intetressanter machen. Ausgeglkichen, sogar süffig ist das eher schwere Bier. Im Hintergrund subtil alkoholisch. 9/10/9/10//10

375mL bottle from the brewery, split with Matts_Property, pours murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of brandy, tropical fruits, caramel / toffee and candied sugar. Flavour is very liqueur-like, emanating the brandy qualities most potently, with the tropical fruits and caramel / toffee blended superbly. Hops aren't are as apparent on this one as the other two. The aging qualities are most prominent on this one. Most fantastic.

Bottle @ Domus Birrae, Rome. Pours unclear amber with a small creamy off white head. Nose is fruit, oak, alcohol and caramel. Flavor adds a bit of liquiorice. Quite complex and tasty. Full bodied. Nice.

@Tampa Wkly Gathering-500ml bottle–Thanks Ibrew2or3-pours an off white head that laces and amber color. Aroma is herbal/spice hops, medium malt. Taste is herbal/spice hops, medium malt-peat. OK effervescence.

Bottle courtesy of the magnificent madmitch76. Thank you sir. 375mL bottle pours clear copper with frothy off white head. This is a good looking beer. The aroma has boozy seemingly whiskey notes moving into mild oak and vanilla. I also get aromatic hints toward dark fruity esters deep in the background before the heat of the draw finally takes over. The taste has a fruit apricot note first then moves into booze resembling dry sherry or somehow whiskey and a sense of oak and vanilla. It ends a bit boozy and dry and could use several more years of age to mellow out a bit more.

bottle #621, courtesy of ibrew2or3. Pours a nice cloudy amber, white head. Aroma is malty, sherry barrel. Flavor, grainy, sweet, some yeast, sherry fruits/barrel, some lingering bitterness to be noted and warming abv towards the finish.

Bottle 375ml.Light unclear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, cask wood - sherry, resin, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20090724]

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, wood, and sherry. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol and sherry, as well as medium notes of malt, caramel, and wood, leading to a dry bitter, alcoholic, sherry, and woody finish.
