Bottle at Chateau Jackl, big thanks to Fin for trading me this one, 13/08/14. Lightly hazed dark amber with a moderate beige covering. Nose is sticky toffee pudding, sherry vibes, stoned fruits, toffee fudge. Taste comprises mellow dark fruits, vanilla fudge, spice, dark toffee, figgy jam, subtle oaky sherry tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly warming booze in the close. Great stuff, has aged well.

Bottle big thanks to Colin! It pours murky golden-brown with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy fruits, candied peel, wood, jam and big apricot feel about it. he taste is sweet, creamy, doughy, booze, oxidized malts, vanilla, fudge, toasted brown sugar, vinous notes and jam with a smooth, warming finish. Full body and decent carbonation. Rich, sweet and warming. A rather great sipper. Interesting and great depth.

Very hazy dark amber beer. Small but tidy off white head. Well integrated wood, fruits and sherry on the nose. Light palate, a little soft and semi dry. Sweetish light malt with traces of wood and sherry. Fruit salad sweets - well buried. Caramel toffee comes to the fore as the beer finishes semi soft and semi dry. Lovely unique beer.

9/10/9/10//10
