This 5.2% black IPA burns the line between an American IPA and a stout, with malt and hops firing on all cylinders, in psychotic synchronicity. Roasty, chocolate and coffee notes duke it out with citrus, mango and pine. Pithy bitterness plays off roasty dryness. Light bodied, but with the intensity of a beer twice its size.

Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Citra, Arcade Nation showcases the incredible complexity of three of our all-time favourite hops. The twisting flavours change so fast, you’ll need the reactions of a hardened retro gamer to keep up with them.

Dark brown to black colored, medium creamy beige to tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and some malt but mostly floral-pine and citrus strong hoppiness. Taste is medium- sweet chocolate, roasted malt and coffee, medium+ fruity, mostly floral and citrus aroma, medium bitterness, dry finish with some coffee notes. Medium to light bodied, average carbonation, oily. Very light yet quite hoppy. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

0,33l bottle at home. BB 07/01/2017. black color, small tan head. smells of exotic fruits, light pines, some herbs, lychee, some mango, light parfume notes, hints of licorice, bit earthy. nice smell. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes quite citric, lemon grass, grapefruit, light spices, lightly roasted, taste and flavours disappear very quickly, finishes light / almost watery with light earthy notes, spices and light herbal bittneress. smell was very promising, also taste started decent but the taste falls apart very quickly finishes is very boring and almost neutral. also for me taste and aroma were quiet different. Brewdog can definitly do better than that.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - dark brown to black and opaque. Nice head. Nose - pine and grapefruit in buckets. Taste - more of the same. Fizzy grapefruit. Only a hint of chocolate. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s good but I want more chocolate from my black ipa.

330ml bottle. Pours dark with medium tan head. Aroma is light roast and pine. Taste is fairly light with breezy citrus and lime floating through more than any dusty coffee and roast that might be lingering. Dry roast on the finish. Decent sessionable BIPA.
