In 1873 in a small place in Banja Luka, beside the Vrbas grove, a brave little Banja Luka brewery was created by the work of a trappist monk from the Marija Zvijezda monastery. The founder of this small brewery was Franz Pfanner, the leader of the Trappist Order in Banja Luka, who together with other monks, besides the brewery, also established a cheese factory to produce the famous Trappista cheese, as well as one of the first power plants in Europe, adhering to his modest lifestyle and chore "Pray and work" ("Ora et labora").

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale gold with minimal head. aroma of some light tropical fruits and dry dog food that has gotten wet on accident. Taste is pretty standard pale lager. Grains, cardboard and some light dirty hops. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Hmm, crappy beer but another country tick!

12oz bottle pours a clear, bright yellow with some cloudy white head. Big honey nose, dust, candy. Flavor is all honey, a little corn. Clean finish. Could be worse.

Bottle shared by Travlr, thanks Gene? Poured a clear pale yellow with a small, off-white head. Flavor was... unfortunate. Funky, strange dirt notes, corn. Flavor was better, but not by much. Flavor was malt, hops, bitter, dry notes. Strange.

Bottle brought home from Dan’s Bulkan holiday. Pours a clear pale golden with a tiny white head. Aroma of cereal and grass. A little hop. Light-bodied, medium carbonated. OK, as expected.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. This is your typical euro lager. Grainy, watery and bland. I only got this b/c it was cheap. I bought 2 one for me and one for my Bosnian neighbor who will get a kick outta seeing this.
