Pivo hnědo-černé barvy se zlatými odlesky, silné a plné chuti, s velmi jemným karamelovým dozvukem, středním řízem, hustou pěnou a střední intenzitou hořkosti. Vhodné ke sladkým a těžším jídlům, či jako aperitiv. Pro posezení s přáteli na letní zahrádce, nebo i v zimě u krbu. Optimální teplota k servírování je 5° – 6° C, nejlépe do sklenic na nožičce typu Cervoize.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with copper-amber highlights when held up to the light; has a large beige head with some of the best retention I’ve ever seen. Aroma consists of SweeTarts, toasted nuts, grain. Taste is sweet and meaty with no bitterness. Tastes like cotton candy, caramel. Carbonation is soft and the body is medium. Not bad--or so I thought at first. It starts to get cloying about halfway through.

500ml bottle. Deep burgundy brown-black. Massive, steady off-white/beige head. Mild and smooth, eay drinking dark lager. Creamy. with a mild hop balance. Some berry butterscotch notes in the finish. Thin, medium body. Straightforward, drinkable, but sort of bland. An interesting change of pace but not exactly a World Class Dunkel.

Bottle, as "dark lager", small brownish stable head, dark brown colour with a touch of reddish streaks, aroma of dark bread with just a hint of roasted coffee that is not too aromatic, flavour is dominated by a malty roastiness that is unbalanced and bitter with some chocolate creeping behind, feels light bodied inspite of the relativly strong alcoholic content. Not the greatest of dunkels.

(Bottle 0,5l) Herbs, light roasted malt aroma. Clear dark ruby color. Minimal light brown head. Light bitter-sweet, roasted malt, herbs taste. Light fizzy. Light sticky texture. Light bitter, dry finish.

Pours really dark brown with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Smells like sweet light roast malt. Med. minus body with light fizzy carbonation. Flavor is sweet mild roast malt. I’d believe dunkel. Sure there’s hop in here, but not sure what. Grassy?

Weak walnut aroma. Clear brown, thick, tan head, decent lacing. Dark roasted malt, horehound aroma, not overly sweet. Dark roasted malt, somewhat dry, indistinguishable nutty undercurrent . Light charcoal finish.

16.9 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a large tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, raisins and a hoppy finish. The taste is sweet malts, molasses, raisins and a slightly bitter citrus hop finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Biggish beige head. Opaque black body goes dark brown at edges. Milky roasty toffeeish aroma, very harmonic, with peppery notes. Dry roasty marzipan toffee taste with earthy coffee notes. Very harmonic. Mild mouthfeel. Fullish body. (0.33l bottle from Pivovarsky Klub, Prague.)

Bottle 33cl.Clear dark amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, burnt caramel, light sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Both bitternes and sweet is burnt caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090626]
