Ten years ago, our cofounder Corey brewed a beer called Summation in his kitchen, drawing his inspiration from a 2010 Bourbon County Vanilla Rye. Little did he know Summation would be one of the beers that put 3 Sons on the map. Over the years this beer has been constantly evolving, becoming bigger, thicker, and aged in some of the best spirits barrels. He experimented with the treatment, using different world-renowned coffee beans and vanilla beans available, striving for perfection!
This 10yr anniversary batch brings together the best of everything! Our favorite coffees and vanillas from around the world. Aged 27 months in 7yr old Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels before being treated with wild Kopi Luwak, Panamanian Geisha, and single estate Peaberry Kona coffee, along with a blend of Alor Island, Comoros, and Vanuatu vanilla beans!!
And for this special 10yr anniversary batch we decided to kick up a notch, with the addition of Ube ! For those of you who don’t know, Ube is a sweet purple yam that originated in the Philippines, most commonly used in desserts. The flavor is described as sweet, nutty, subtle like vanilla tones, with a coconut aroma!
