@ BXLfest 2017.

Tap at BXL festival. Hazy golden with lasting white head. Massive tonka beans, some coffee, vanilla, deep bitter roast, sweet malts, cocoa beans. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. Too much tonka beans but a very interesting beer.

Keg at the Pint Shop, Cambridge. Creamy/tan and clear with a small head. Coffee, Lotus biscuit spread, banoffee pie in the aroma. Sweet biscuit taste is quickly supplanted by a bitterness which is just half a grade too harsh. Very bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel with vanilla latte notes cutting through the astringency. I like the novelty of white stouts, and although this doesn’t hit the heights of the best imperial stouts it’s fairly tasty. I could’ve done with a bit less bitterness though.
