English: It is said that that the first Europeans to experience the impact of a falling coconut were a group of Portuguese sailors. Under the command of Duarte Barbosa, captain of the Victoria on a voyage more than 500 years ago, a landing party was sent to investigate a small coral island in what is thought to be the present day Maldives. The crewmen however got utterly lost on the Island and decided to rest under an unknown palm tree. Sliding into an exhausted sleep they were quickly woken by what they first thought to be giant droppings from the infamous Brown Boobies, a giant seabird known to be a constant nuisance to sailors when out of a sudden they would fall from the sky in a Stuka-like attack fashion. Relieved they were, the poor sailors, when they realized they were under no booby attack, but simply the victims of falling coconuts. And ever since that day coconuts have been a very popular ingredient in foods as diverse as chocolate bars and Imperial Porters. Actually it’s on that very Maldive island the first Coconut Porter is said to have been brewed. And that dear friends is a true story.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, some roast, coconut, coffee, chocolate, with some hoppy notes and liquorice in the finish. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate roasty bitter. Body is medium to full and creamy. Lovely coconut Porter, just the right amount of coconut for my taste and the roasty coffee malty backbone is solid. Very tasty!

Bottle bought at Liquor Shed.
Looks pretty black to me though I would fall short in saying pitch black. Head of foam is very short lasting. No lacing.
Roasted malt, slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Almost has a barrel aged aroma because of the alcohol, which actually isn't up there. Coconut...nah. I can't pull any out. No dating on the bottle so it must not be fresh? It's retired..
Flavours resemble the smell with maybe a smidgen of Coconut. Reaffirms what I said aboot the smell. That being said, I quite enjoy this Porter. Imperial at 7.50% abv or whatever.
Mouthfeel..excellent.
I could see myself buying more.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable robust tan head. Clear aroma of fruit and barrel, with notes of coffee and malt. Bitter, roasty flavour of coffee and hops, with notes of malt, fruit, barrel and yeast. Hints of biscuit. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with hints of barrel. Good.

0.33 l bottle shared with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran during a tasting session in the summer of 2017. Thanks! Purchased at Hoppiness Beer Shop, Koper, Slovenia. Dark brown to black, small tan head. Coffee, roasty, nutty, leather, dark malts, dark fruits, brown bread. Sweet, some coconut, dry and roasty finish. Medium body, sticky, moderate carbonation, medium finish. Although not very strong, this really feels like an imperial porter. Good job!
