Stout Beer
Our first stout! So excited. These sorts of beers, wintery, fireside beers are so heartwarming. Classic, no adjunct (obvs), dry stout going heavy on the brown and chocolate malts. Hopefully we’ll find more time to make more stout but for now this is the first and only.

Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown, a little translucent with a decent-sized tan head. Aroma is overwhelmingly of liquorice and blackberry jam. Sweet taste, a little tobacco in here along with the liquorice and berry, fading quickly to bitterness. Light to medium body, no carbonation to speak of. It is okay.

Bottle, Beer Stop. Thick dark brown pour. Swirly dense tan foam. Big bitter coffee chocolate notes. Taste is a little sweet getting roasty ashy coffee grinds bitter. Super smooth and tasty. Drinks bigger than 5.4. Big roast bitterness to finish. Class.
