Rating from 2010 as Quids In: Harveys ist die einzige Brauerei Großbritanniens die ich kenne, die ihr Bier vorbildhaft in Mehrwegflaschen abfüllt. Da dies in England unüblich ist trägt die Flasche extra den netten Hinweis "Please return - we will wash and refill this bottle". Dunkelgolden ist das Bier im Glas, süßlich-voluminöser Geruch nach gelben Früchten. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig-süßlich, sehr mild. Zum Hauptteil wird das Bier etwas süßlich ale-typisch, durch die 4% bei weitem nicht so voluminös wie sein Geruch, aber sehr lecker und süffig. Fast gar nicht wässrig. In Hauptteil kommt neben der leicht süßlich-"aletypischen" Grundnote auch eine leichte Herbe zur Geltung, die sich gegen Ende weiter durchsetzt. Leichte Malztöne begleiten das leichte Bier. Der Nachgeschmack ist lang anhaltend, ale-typisch und herb mit angenehmer Malzsüße und einer mild-weichen Note. --> Ein ideales Sommerbier. Leicht, aber nicht geschmacklos; süffig, aber nicht wässrig; Mild, aber trotzdem aromenreich! Eine sehr zu empfehlende Golden Ale! --> 12,12,13,12,12,13 - 12,55

50cl bottle picked up in Hastings. Pale gold with a fast dissipating white head; caramel aroma; soft biscuity malt flavour with a touch of citrus and a lightly bitter finish.

Bottle, Pale amber with no head and moderate carbonation. Sweetish, yeasty aroma with a touch of peach and orange fruit. Earthy flavour, with some more fruit and bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle 50cl.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a average, fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, grain, light toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090730]

Bottled@ChrisO. Golden colour, small beige head. Aroma is flowery hops, some mild nectary notes as well as some wooden stuff. Flavour is a bit eggy along with the same stuff as the aroma. Quite fruity aftertaste.

Bottle from the brewery. I’m always suspicious of Harvey’s in a bottle as I’ve had a few shockers in my time, mostly diacetyl bombs. This is orange gold, with over carbonation and very sparse head. Bit of soapy weedy citrus hop. Pretty watery and uncaracteristic in the mouth with no Havery’s yeast, faint clementive hop on finish with a lasting clementine flavour in the mouth. Vague yeast aroma.
