Bottle from Harvey’s online shop. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - honey and lemon. Some cereal. Taste - more of the same. Maybe some custard. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish though it could be cleaner. Overall - solid but not refreshing enough.

Bottle split at LKS ’Beers of London’ Tasting, high up, thanks to Bropey - Harveys new #1 fanboy 10/12/14. Clear light golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is light citric peel, apple orchard, musty notes, pale malt, yeast. Taste comprises pale malts, hint of orange, caramel, orchard tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so.

Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Thanks to Scopes for this one. Bright clear gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light and crisp and semi dry. Dry pale malts, trace of sweet grain. Mild floralness. A little insipid orangey fruit. Light semi dry finish. Clean and fairly drinkable.

Bottle picked up at Harvey’s. It pours clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose is simple, clean, toasty grain, sweet cereal and faint peach. The taste is toasty, cereal, light lemony citrus, soap, grainy and some underlying sweetness with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Really easy going. Simple and crushable.

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Thanks to Paul. Very pale yellow, very clear, loose white head. Aroma is classic harvey’s house nose. Some grassy green leaf hop, touch of sulphur. Flavour is composed of dirty green hop, fresh grass / silage, pale grains, straw. Touch of egg. Palate is clean and grainy, light body, moderate carbonation. Decent beer. Characterful and drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours perfectly clear yellow-gold with a frothy white head. The nose has some doughy bread, apple, hay. Light sweet flavor with grainy white bread, hints of paper, grass, straw, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some lightly bitter grains and hay, vague citrus. So so.

From cask at White Hart, Crawley 22 Jan 14. 4,3%. Deep, deep amber. Low head with some color. The flavor is caramel with spicy notes. The typical Harvey’s flavor shines through. More spice in the finish. Good!
