Since most of our IPAs are brewed with no less than 5 hops, we thought it would be fun to start a single hop, IPA/Pale Ale series. Wondering what a particular hop adds to the overall complexity of your hoppy beer? Well have no fear -- hopped impressions are here!
Ahtanum: A medium-bitterness hop with aromas of citrus, wild flowers, herbs, cedar, and grass. What notes are you picking up? What’s your hopped impression?

Brewery draught, 2/16/25.
Clear golden-brass. Small, white head.
Floral, piney, but not resinous aromatics. Long spice and sprucey dryness. White bread-like malts balance nicely. Love the lack of medium malts.
Soft, juicy, gently bitter. Leafy, green, piney herbage with a burly maltiness to easily balance. Clean, no resin, no toast. Maybe a bit lacking in complexity. Just a lot of white bread and pine. But certainly well-done for a non-NEIPA.
