Panda at home, thanks to the Kenneth, 26/04/2026.
Pitch black topped with a frothy khaki head of large bubbles that veer to the edge.
Nose is ripe bourbon, figs, dried fruit rinds, spice, dark malts.
Taste comprises dates, prunes, chocolate shavings, molasses, dark malts, mellow rum kiss.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy sipper.

Pretty much a clear dark brown beer, small and short lived bubbly darkish tan head. Smooth palate, modest fine carbonation, fine for this brew. Much like the Armanagac, this comes over as quite barleywine like. Soft rich toffee caramel malts, just a touch of chocolate. The Rum barrel delivers rich ripe fruits with that vibrant rum tangy richness. Very mild alcohol spice. Soft barrel induced vanilla. Smooth finish leaves a long and rich ripe fruity rum linger. Rich but such easy drinking.

On tap at WBF 2025, pours a deep dark mahogany, no head. Nose has plenty of rum barrel without being too overbearing, some sticky sugars, and dark fruits. Flavour is a bit thin-bodied but lacks some major rum character; the malts don’t seem there though. Sticky, fruity, sugary. Lacking a bit in substance.

Bottle pour at Warsaw Beer Festival 2025. Pours black. Nose is pretty light with only a bit of roast on the nose. Flavour has soft bready roast and some brown sugars. Not getting much rum. Pretty solid.

Black with zero head. Oily smooth body though not quite as thick. Sweet chocolate, lightly roasted notes, vanilla, a bit of oak, molasses. I don’t pick up much rum but it could be overpowered by the molasses I guess. Finish is sweet. A bit of a letdown. Needs carbonation because there is none and the rum barrel aging is either non-existent or done in a way that comes out like molasses just like other heavy porters and stouts.
