330ml can. Pours dark brown, almost black with a smooth brown head. Roasty, earthy and syrupy imperial stout with some licorice, dark chocolate and espresso notes, hints of leather and burnt malts. A bit too burnt.

Can: Deep, deep amber coloured, a ruby sheen is still visible, creamy and stable and firm tanned head, moderate to solid nose of dried fruits, toasted malt and leather, as usual, with traces of fresh (?) hops in the background; moderate to solid - as well - sweet-bitter flavour, accompanied by a delicate acidity, full bodied, quite soft; lingering sweet-sourish finish with dried fruits, toasted malt, herbal hops and warming alcohol. Very well quaffable ImpStout...

Modern, American-style imperial stout from this Kentish brewery, sampled at BXL Beerfest, thanks Olivier for sharing. Lacing, medium thick, pale yellowish beige head, near-black robe with hazy burgundy edges. Aroma of hazelnuts, dry leather, dry tree leaves, coffee grounds, walnut shells, black tea, dry black earth, cigar ashes, butterscotch, glue. Dried fig and dried Polish plum notes in the onset, medium to lightly fizzy carbo, thoroughly nutty malt body, full and oily, toasted and very bitter black chocolatey, bit earthy finish, humus and dry dead tree leaf impressions, cold coffee grounds too, herbal, followed by a warming gin-like alcohol effect. Nice enough for its style, but could do with a tad more body and a bit less of that herbal, leafy earthiness in nose and finish.
