The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is an American brown brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo boil hops provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops offer a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by seven varieties of malt. The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is a great choice for anyone who appreciates assertive hops and nutty toasted malt flavors – oh yeah!

From a 12 bottle shared in Avon, NC. Pours a hazy brown with a thick ecru head. Rich caramel malt nose. Very effervescent mouthfeel. Hops kick in big time. Interesting but doesn’t completely work for me.

Strong tobacco nose with maple syrup highlights, wood, fig, and molasses. Awesome. Clear brown, medium tan head. Robust wood and nutty notes. Walnuts are prominent, with a pleasurable bitter char finish. Excellent hoppy ABA.

Sample at The Taphouse in Hampton. This brew is a clear dark brown color with a medium thick beige head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, hops and citrus. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, hops and a touch of coffee. The finish is sweet with a caramel malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of of roast with a bit of dark fruit and some dark grains. Flavor starts a bit thin with some dark grain but grows to have some chocolate and light roast.

A reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, a nice nutty chocolate with nice coffee notes, herbal and smooth. In mouth, a porter like brown head with big coffee and chocolate, roasted malts well used, medium bodied. On tap at Twin City Brewfest August 13 2011.
