The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is an American brown brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo boil hops provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops offer a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by seven varieties of malt. The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is a great choice for anyone who appreciates assertive hops and nutty toasted malt flavors – oh yeah!

Bottle. It’s a slightly unclear, brown beer with a big, foamy light beige head. Fruity nose with a roasted touch. Berries? Roasted flavor with fruityness and a nice bitterness towards the end. Dry in the mouth, medium to full body. Nice piney and chocolate-caramel finish. A quite pleasant and easy drinkable beer, but nothing more. 110416

12 oz bottle @ Liberty Street Tavern. Served in a pint glass. small white head from a deep brown color. Nose is a good nutty roast with a slight hoppy aroma. Molasses with a lot of bitter hops. For me way to much bitterness. When I drink a brown I want roast, toast and Brown sugar or molasses. A nice brown for the Hop Heads. High amount of bitterness.

Looks acceptable but by no means pretty. The waves of deep, roasty, chocolate malt wafting from the pint are amazing, but be warned: the nose doesn’t prepare you for the massive hoppy attack within. Tastes like a terrific brown ale that uses its IPA longings to keep the beer clean and tight. Starts with caramel and toasted bread, eases into nutty pastry, and then the hops slowly, steadily creep in, like the rising tide, until they’ve eliminated any chance of this Brown Ale getting too sweet. Beautifully done, super tasty, and gone from Charleston, for some reason. (5/30/09)

Bottle from a trade with emacgee. Pours medium brown color with a huge tan head. Toasted malt aroma with some caramel, pine hops and a little nuttiness. Toasty flavor with some bitterness and a touch of sweet caramel. Light to medium body with average carbonation. A decent brown ale. Thanks Ethan.

Bottle: Pours a beautiful amber and mahogany blend with a modest beige head. Absolutely a gorgeous pour. Nose is sweet with candied sugar and caramel before a deeper, breadier maltiness takes over. Lots of bready malt in the flavor, toast, and crisp florals. Just a little earthy and some nuts. Fun brew.

NIce caramel color with a large, rocky head. Light aroma but some malts, bread, caramel, and a touch of earthy hops. Flavor has some toasted malts, toffee, earthy hops, spicy, and light bitterness. Finishes medium dry and nice lasting bitterness. Medium bodied. Solid but gets old as I near the finish.
