The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is an American brown brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo boil hops provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops offer a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by seven varieties of malt. The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is a great choice for anyone who appreciates assertive hops and nutty toasted malt flavors – oh yeah!

Nice deep brown coloured body with a copper glow and a thick dense tan head - nice! Aroma of roasted malt, nuts and a big dose of hops along with some soap. Medium-bodied; Rather mild flavour with roasted malt, nuts and some minor caramel coming through. Aftertaste shows only a touch of the flavours with some hop bitterness noticeable. Overall, a pretty subpar beer considering their other styles, but at least drinkable and showing a modicum of flavour. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 05-March-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 08-April-2010.

Bottle from craftbeerdesign. Pours ruddy copper with a 3 finger beige head. Aroma is citrus with a strong, almost chocolate, malt accompaniment. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is almost chocolatey with some floral/citrus hop. Very unusual "brown" ale. Quite nice.

12oz bottle. Toffee orange-brown with a fluffy, soapy head. Sweet, fresh brewery aroma. A well done brown ale, medium bodied and full of flavor. More hop character than a typical brown upfront, but enough sugary dark malt to anchor it in Brown territory. Soapy hop character hints at dark IPA at times. Smooth and clean, this is a great session brown.

Bottle via a trade with beerbill. Pours with a creamy, rocky tan head and a hazy brown body. Good lace. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, some figs, and coffee. Light hops. Taste is caramel, brown sugar, light hops. Fizzy mouthfeel, dry finish.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with a huge white head. Aroma is roasted and slight spiced hoppy. Roasted malty, caramelish and light chocolate. Lingering roasted malty, chocolate and dry breadish into a light bitter and fruity hoppy finish.

On draft at the new Pizzeria Paradiso, thank you Jeff. Medium brown color with tan head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Taste of chocolate and caramel, more malt than hops, but with a decent bitter edge.

12 oz bottle - poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, nuts and chocolate. Flavor is a nice, smooth roasted malt and caramel flavor - with a strong character of chocolate. Not bad at all.
