On tap at brewery. Aroma is moderately roasty with some chocolate notes. Light smoke notes - peat and cherry wood? Light wheat and oak aroma. Pours a dark brown with some ruby highlights. Medium which dark tan head with good retention that lingers on the edges. Moderate lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet with some wheat and oak notes. The roast character quickly becomes apparent along with a medium smoke character. She light dark fruit notes along with some leather and tobacco. Low to medium low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low but present astringency with medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty enjoyable beer. Nice smoke character that is well balanced with the roast. My one complaint would be that the fermentation doesn’t seem as clean as it could be.
