Bottle, 75cl, thx to Papsoe. It pours a clear, slightly pale golden body without any head. Heathery, honeyish, sweet nose with alcohol. Rather flowery. Sweet, honey flavor with a good dash of heather. Warming, medium body. The finish has heather and alcohol warmth. A quite decent mead. (090514)

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear golden. Fresh honey aroma with a light tartness. Surprisingly light-bodied with good honey accents without being particularly sweet. Ends lightly tart. 210309

Bottle, 13%. Spicy honey aroma, a bit peppery. Clear golden colour. The flavour is quite sweet, has a little wax and urine. OK honey aftertaste, but quite peppery.

75 cL bottle. Pours clear and light brown with no head. Dry and herbal honey and slight spiced aroma with a distinct alcohol presence. Sweet and honey herbal flavoured with a mild wooden touch and distinct honey flavoured into the finish. Sweet and warming finish.

Bottled. A pale golden mead. The aroma is sweet and dominated by honey with some floral notes. The flavor is very sweet and honey - almost cloying with a strong alcohol note in the background that towards the end turns in to a burn on the tongue, that lasts a long time together with the honey. Somewhere in the middle of it all some flowery notes appear. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Neuchâtel
Golden color, just a shade lighter than the oak aged version. The aroma is strong, honey of course, but a lot flowery too. Medium bodied, sweet honey flavor with a flowery touch; lightly bitter at the end, also with a hint of sweet nuts. The final is somehow short, and with very light alcohol perception. Pleasant but quite ordinary.

2006 Bottle. Pours with a clear amber body (considerably darker than the picture, think a nice IPA or light amber ale color) with no head but strong alcohol legs. Aroma of honey, vanilla, mint and other herbal notes. Aroma has a bit of heat from the alcohol as it stings the nostrils a bit. Taste is a nice strong herbal based honey wine with very nice levels of sweetness for easy drinking, although the alcohol is not well hidden at all. Very light effervescence. not bad.
