On draught (!!!) at Trillium Field Trip, 8/4/18. Wow, of all the beers to expect SA to bring, this was definitely not on the radar...
Hazy peach-brass-golden with deeper cantaloupe hues. Large, off-white head is tinted light peach-beige and shows very strong retention.
Massive amounts of oak and fruit open the nose. Kind of Fated Farmer-like, in that regard, though the backing mixed fermentation character shows much less acetic acid. Surprising amount of oak, a good bit of it toasted. Lactic acidity is strong, but acetic notes do emerge with warming, alongside very aromatic, funky, leathery peach and strong sulfur. No alcohol or flaw. Big and bold.
In the mouth, the Brett really shines forth, which is surprising given the strong lacto-acetic nature of the nose. Soft, dry and malty with big leathery peach notes and lingering, heavy lactic acidity. Very juicy throughout though the strong wood tannin and oak flavor soaks a lot of it up. Exquisitely tight, almost champagne-like carbonation. Very interesting and flavorful but maybe a bit too rich and jumbled compared to West Ashley?

5 oz. draft @ Field Trip 2018. Flavor is nicely tart. Not overly sour. Old apricot, peach, and a light sharp vinegar. Nicely sour without being too acidic. Nice mild old fruit character. Pretty nice, does live up to the hype. Well, on draft anyhow.

(Bottle sample @ CBC 2016 Blue Session, Copenhagen) Dreg pour, so a murky dark orange. Nose has lots of apricot flesh and skin, fairly woody but kept in balance, touch vinous, some grain, little bit of a sour edge to it, but more from tart apricots than exceptionally lactic. Flavour is distinctly more puckering, still a lot of apricot flesh, also a little bit of citrus, wood, white wine, real grip of acidity towards the finish with lots of apricot flesh and dried apricot in the back end. Medium full body with soft bottle-fermented carbonation. Nice and fruity, with good balance, really really tasty apricot beer.

Sample from a 0.75l bottle @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. The legend. This one pours a mild blurry golden colored body with a small quickly sidesticking white head in the top. Nice, but not too extreme nose. A bit surprised by that actually. Still, it's soft wood sour with green currants and a little quite suiting white vine. There's also this nice sweetness in the blend - like a peachy sweetness. Nice, but as mentioned a little milder than I thought. Oh, it's sour and sharp in the taste! Really stingy and wild. Makes up for the arome. Almost like sour heather with honey and a rush of lemon juices. White currant sour, a little gooseberry freshness in the finish. Really fruity and superb refreshing. Nice stuff! 13.05.2016
